Greece captain Katsouranis signs for PAOK

Greece captain Costas Katsouranis has signed an 18-month contract with PAOK Thessaloniki, two months after leaving Panathinaikos.
Katsouranis' new club announced the deal on Tuesday with the 33-year-old midfielder, but did not disclose financial terms.
''Obviously, he's got great experience,'' PAOK coach Giorgos Donis told The Associated Press. ''He's a very useful player - we need him.''
PAOK is second in Greece's 16-team top-flight with 28 points from 14 matches, eight points behind leader Olympiakos.
Katsourakis is a veteran of Greece's winning 2004 European Championship team, and made his 100th appearance for the national team in October in a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Slovakia. He was ditched by Panathinaikos after the club made a poor start to the season.
Greece coach Fernando Santos had warned that he would drop Katsouranis if he remained without a team.
