Gordon concern for Black Cats

The Scotland international has been given a special exercise regime which the club hopes will help cure his troublesome tendon problem. However, if the treatment fails then the former Hearts shot-stopper would be forced to undergo treatment that could sideline him until October. Bruce is crossing his fingers that the worst-case scenario does not transpire, and depending on the level of surgery he needs he could be out for as little as a month. "The inflammation he's got around the knee isn't great so if this exercise programme he's on doesn't work they'll have to go into it," explained the Black Cats boss. "We're hoping to avoid an operation because that could see Craig out for a month or, if it is severe, up to six months."
