Ghanaian football officials have suspended domestic league play after a raid by investigators on the national federation's headquarters.

Ghana's Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) raided the offices on Tuesday, taking away computers and documents.

Emmanuel Adotey, chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association, said Wednesday the leagues have been suspended as a result because the removed documents detailed which players are eligible.

Ghana's federation has denied claims that it had failed to report properly to the EOCO and will go to court to determine the legality of the raid.

Meanwhile, sports minister Akua Sena Dansua denied that the government had ordered the raid, saying the EOCO is an independent organization.

FIFA says it is monitoring the situation.
