The Ghana Football Association says France's 1998 World Cup winner Marcel Desailly is on its shortlist of five candidates to become the Black Stars coach.
The GFA says it will interview the candidates on the shortlist, which also includes Serbia's Goran Stevanovic, former Portugal, Morocco and Tunisia manager Humberto Coelho, Herbert Addo and Can Vanli, "in due course."
The 42-year-old Desailly, who was born in Ghana, won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 with Les Bleus but has no coaching experience. The former AC Milan and Chelsea defender retired in 2006.
Another Serb, Milovan Rajevac, resigned in September after leading an impressive Black Stars team to the final of this year's African Cup of Nations and the quarterfinals of the World Cup.
