Genoa came from behind to claim their first win of the season by winning 2-1 at Lazio.

Giuseppe Sculli put Lazio ahead after 11 minutes but the visitors responded well.

Rodrigo Palacio brought Genoa level before the hour mark and team-mate Juraj Kucka struck the winner with 19 minutes remaining to silence the fans at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Romans went into the game on the back of their midweek 2-2 home draw with Vaslui in the Europa League and a 2-2 result at AC Milan in their Serie A opener.

Palacio had the first clear-cut opportunity of the game for the visitors after 10 minutes.

Miguel Veloso fed the Argentinian striker inside the area and he struck narrowly wide of Federico Marchetti's near post.

Lazio went in front a minute later.

A fast break down the right flank saw Miroslav Klose serve Sculli in the six-yard box and he fired past Genoa goalkeeper Sebastien Frey.

The hosts almost doubled their lead in the 20th minute.

Djibril Cisse got behind Klose's pass and fired a left-footed shot from the heart of the area that went wide of the far post.

Midway through the first half, Genoa coach Alberto Malesani was forced to make his first substitution with Andreas Granqvist replacing injured Giandomenico Mesto.

Genoa pushed forward in search of an equaliser and Veloso came close before the break.

His long-range attempt went over the bar.

The visitors made it 1-1 in the 54th minute.

Substitute Cristobal Jorquera found Palacio in the heart of the area and the South American struck the ball past a helpless Marchetti.

Christian Brocchi almost put the Biancoceleste back in front after the hour mark but he fired wide of the far post from a good position.

Genoa went in front soon after.

Kucka played a beautiful one-two with Palacio before beating Marchetti with a six-yard strike.

With 10 minutes remaining, Cisse's dangerous cross-shot forced compatriot Frey to palm over the bar.

Deep in stoppage time, Lazio substitute Mobido Diakite's headed Cristian Ledesma's cross over the bar as Genoa held on for victory.
