Galtier commits to St Etienne

St Etienne coach Christophe Galtier has signed a two-year contract extension taking him through to 2016, the Ligue 1 club have confirmed.
Galtier, who shared the Coach of the Year award with league winning Paris Saint-Germain manager Carlo Ancelotti, moved into the role in 2009 after stepping into the shoes of Alain Perrin, who he worked alongside as an assistant.
The 46-year-old, who led ASSE to Coupe de la Ligue success this season, revealed on Sunday he planned to meet up with club officials to discuss his future.
The decision to extend his contract was confirmed on the club's website today following a board meeting.
A statement read: "The board of AS Saint-Etienne would like to thank Christophe Galtier for the quality of his work and his commitment to the club.
"A first assessment of the current season has been established and a reflection is committed on the prospects for next season.
"The (board) meeting also served to extend the contract of Christophe Galtier until 30 June 2016."
