Galatasaray boss Hamza Hamzaoglu has ruled out a move for Robin van Persie, insisting a deal for the Manchester United star is too expensive.

The Turkish Super Lig champions were linked with Holland striker Van Persie earlier this week, but are now set to look at different options due to the player's £240,000-a-week wage demands.

United are also likely to want £5million for the 31-year-old, who has one year left on his current deal.

Hamzaoglu told Spor 3: "Robin van Persie is not on our agenda. The costs are very high. This year, we will be a little more careful."

The Red Devils are reportedly ready to listen to offers for Van Persie, who scored just 10 league goals last season.
