Freiburg recovered from an own goal to secure a draw against Hannover thanks to a second-half strike by Papiss Demba Cisse.

Hannover grabbed the lead in the 44th minute when Felix Bastians put through his own net, but Cisse spared their blushes with his equaliser in the 67th minute.

That goal saw Freiburg stretch their unbeaten run to four games in the Bundesliga, while Hannover have managed just one win in their last five matches.

The visitors had the first chance after 13 minutes with Christian Pander crossing from the left to Mohammed Abdellaoue, who fired just over the crossbar from 12 yards out.

Freiburg came even closer 14 minutes later with a free-kick picking out Heiko Butscher, but the captain's shot from a tight angle was cleared off the line by Christian Schulz.

Hannover almost took the lead in the 43rd minute but Jan Schlaudraff's effort came back off the post.

However, they went ahead a minute before the break following a counter-attack, with Freiburg defender Bastians - under pressure from Hannover striker Didier Ya Konan - turning the ball into his own net from Abdellaoue's cross.

Freiburg goalkeeper Oliver Baumann prevented his team from going further behind in the 47th minute, barely getting his hand to a long-distance bullet from Konstantin Rausch.

Cisse almost got the hosts back on level terms in the 65th minute but his header fell narrowly past the left post.

An equaliser followed two minutes later though, with Johannes Flum whipping a cross into the box for Cisse, who directed his header perfectly past Hannover goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler just inside the right post.
