France has arrived in South Africa for the World Cup, already facing criticism after a poor result in a warm-up friendly.

The French squad touched down at George Airport before sunrise on Saturday, greeted by a brass band and fans blowing plastic vuvuzela trumpets.

The team arrived from the island of Reunion off Africa's east coast, where they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat by China on Friday.
