Internacional coach Jorge Fossati says he will resign if the Brazilian club fails against Cerro on Wednesday in the Copa Libertadores.

Internacional lost 2-0 to Caxias on Sunday in the Rio Grande do Sul state championship, extending its winless streak to six matches.

Asked if he would resign if the team failed against Cerro, Fossati said "I confirm" that as "someone else" would need to do the job.

Internacional is second in Group 5 of the Copa Libertadores with five points from three matches, two points behind Uruguay's Cerro. Ecuador's Deportivo Quito is third with four points, and Ecuador's Emelec is last with zero.
