Former Spain international Vicente Rodriguez will look to kickstart his career at second-tier English side Brighton after being released by Valencia this summer.
The 30-year-old winger signed a one-year deal on Friday with the south-coast team, which is managed by former Uruguay and Chelsea midfielder Gus Poyet and top of the League Championship table after five games.
Vicente, who played 40 times for Spain, says ''I'm motivated to begin a new part of my career here in England. I hope ... to become a Premier League player with this club.''
Vicente was one of Valencia's star players in the first half of the last decade, helping the team to two league titles and a UEFA Cup success, but rarely played last season.
