Dunfermline reached the final of the Division One play-off after winning an enthralling play-off against Forfar who were beaten 6-4 on aggregate at East End Park.
The visitors had won the first leg on Wednesday 3-1 but, after having three players sent-off, slipped to a 6-1 defeat despite taking an early lead.
Ian Campbell opened the scoring from a corner after just six minutes to give Forfar a three-goal advantage on aggregate.
But that was as good as it got for the Second Division team hoping to secure promotion.
Nine minutes later Mark McCulloch became the first player to see red giving away a penalty in the process as he hacked down Allan Smith only for Stephen Husband to miss the spot kick.
The hosts finally levelled matters on 36 when Michael Dunlop was unfortunate to put through his own net.
And it got worse for the defender 10 minutes into the second half when he became the next Forfar player to leave the pitch, following a foul on Alex Whittle.
Eight minutes later Ryan Thomson fired Dunfermline into a 2-1 lead, reducing the overall deficit to just a single goal.
However, the Loons were just six minutes away from reaching the play-off final when Dunfermline netted their third of the afternoon through Ross Millen from the penalty spot.
This was immediately followed by yet another sending-off, with a red card shown to Iain Campbell, leaving Forfar to play extra-time with just eight players.
Three more goals followed during overtime, with Smith notching his second of the afternoon with 102 minutes on the clock.
Husband added a brace in the second period of extra-time to complete the rout and earn a contest with Alloa.
Alloa reached the play-off final with a 4-3 aggregate victory over Brechin, despite losing the second leg 3-2.
But if Dunfermline were to suffer defeat against the Division Two team in the final it would mean a second straight relegation for the Pars.
