Football leaders of divided Cyprus resume talks

Football leaders from the divided north and south of Cyprus have held their first formal meetings in more than four years.
Officials from the unofficial Cyprus Turkish Football Association says they ''exchanged views and ideas'' with a delegation from the FIFA-recognized Cyprus FA in Limassol this week.
The CTFA, representing the breakaway Turkish Cypriot north of the Mediterranean island, says the parties will meet again in December.
The meetings did not involve the most senior Cypriot official in world football, Marios Lefkaritis, who is an executive committee member at FIFA and UEFA.
Cyprus has been split into a Greek-led south and Turkish north since 1974, when Turkey sent troops to the island following a short-lived coup staged by supporters of a union with Greece.
