SYDNEY (AP) Football Federation Australia and a players' union have agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement that covers the domestic A-League and both men's and women's national teams for four years.

The resolution comes after months of acrimonious negotiations between the FFA and the Professional Footballers Australia union, at one stage leading the men's side to boycott commercial appearances in the lead-up to a World Cup qualifier and the women's team to abandon a two-match tour of the United States.

The previous agreement expired on June 30.

The FFA said in a statement Friday that the agreement meant increases in players' pay and improved conditions for all three groups. It will see an increase for top-tier players on the women's Matildas team to 41,000 Australian dollars a year ($29,300).
