Brazilian club Fluminense has hired coach Muricy Ramalho through to
the end of the year.
Ramalho replaces coach Cuca, who was fired last week. Ramalho
has not coached since being let go by Palmeiras in February.
Ramalho won three straight Brazilian league titles with Sao
Paulo from 2006-08. He came close to winning it again with
Palmeiras last season, when the team led for much of the
competition only to be overhauled near the finish.
Fluminense won the Brazilian league in 1984 and the Brazilian
Cup in 2007. The team is in the quarterfinals of this season's
Brazilian Cup. The Brazilian league does not start until May.
