Mangan and Vardy notched a goal in either half as the Cod Army secured a famous win despite Richard Brodie's sending off for the Blue Square Premier high-fliers on the stroke of half-time. League One strugglers Wycombe went close early on through Stuart Lewis only for the home side to hit straight back when Jamie Milligan's free-kick struck the upright. Fleetwood frontman Brodie then blazed over from close range as the hosts dominated. They got the goal they deserved in the 25th minute when Mangan volleyed home as the Wycombe defence looked in vain for offside. The home side continued to push and were denied a second when Brodie headed onto the bar. The striker's afternoon came to an end as he received a straight red card for an off the ball elbow on Chairboys defender Leon Johnson. Wycombe enjoyed the lion's share of possession after the break as they looked to get back into the cup tie, but it was the 10-men of Town that got the all-important second 10 minutes from time. Mangan threaded a through ball beyond the visitors backline and Vardy ran on and coolly slotted past Wanderers goalkeeper Nikki Bull.
