The German football federation has suspended five players who were sent off in the Bundesliga over the weekend.
The DFB said Monday it is suspending Werder Bremen goalkeeper Tim Wiese, Wolfsburg goalkeeper Marwin Hitz and Hannover striker Artur Sobiech for three games each.
Germany forward Andre Schuerrle is ruled out for two matches following his injury-time foul on Cologne's Sascha Riether in Bayer Leverkusen's 4-1 loss on Saturday, while Augsburg's Sebastian Langkamp is suspended for one game after being sent off in the 2-2 draw at Hertha Berlin.
It was only the third time in Bundesliga history that five players earned direct red cards in the same weekend.
