FIFA reprimands West Ham for Diafra Sakho's African Cup no-show

FIFA says it has reprimanded Senegal forward Diafra Sakho and his club West Ham for his failure to report to the African Cup of Nations last month.

FIFA says its disciplinary committee also fined West Ham 100,000 Swiss francs ($108,000).

The Senegal Football Association complained to FIFA that West Ham said Sakho was ''prevented from playing and travelling by plane due to injury.''

On Jan. 25, Sakho played in an FA Cup match against Bristol City and scored the winning goal.

Two days later, Senegal was eliminated from the Cup of Nations.
