The Bulgarian football federation is calling for an extension of the three-month bans given to three CSKA Sofia players who tested positive for banned stimulants.
The Bulgarian Football Union said Thursday it had filed an appeal with the national Olympic Committee's disciplinary commission asking it to revise its decision against Kostadin Stoyanov, Rumen Trifonov and Todor Yanchev. The players tested positive for methylhexanamine after domestic league matches last season.
The federation said it wants longer bans because ''FIFA and UEFA have announced zero tolerance'' for athletes who dope.
