FA warns Wayne Rooney over referee comment

Wayne Rooney has been warned about his conduct by the Football Association for mouthing a comment to a TV camera after Manchester United's loss to Chelsea that suggested the referee was biased toward his opponents.

Rooney appeared to say "12th man" as he walked off the field after Man United's 1-0 loss at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, and the FA said Monday he had been warned about his future conduct.

United's players were angry that referee Martin Atkinson awarded Chelsea a free kick that led to John Terry's winning goal. The result puts Chelsea five points clear at the top of the Premier League with United slipping to third.
