QPR midfielder Joey Barton has been handed a 12-game ban.
The suspension has been dished out in relation to Barton's red card and subsequent behavior in the final game of the Premier League season at Manchester City on May 13.
Barton had admitted a charge of violent conduct for kicking Sergio Aguero after he had been sent off for elbowing Carlos Tevez.
He denied a second charge of alleged violent conduct against Manchester City's Vincent Kompany, at whom he aimed a head-butt, but the FA's independent regulatory commission found the charge proved.
Barton was handed an eight-game ban for the two charges. That ban will run consecutively to the four-match suspension he received for the red card, taking the total length of the ban to 12 games.
He has also been fined £75,000.
The chairman of the regulatory commission stated after the hearing: "There are rules of conduct that should be adhered to, and such behavior tarnishes the image of football in this country, particularly as this match was the pinnacle of the domestic season and watched by millions around the globe."
QPR declined to comment on the ban.
