Portugal football great Eusebio was reportedly discharged from a hospital on Tuesday, one week after being readmitted following treatment for double pneumonia.

Portuguese media reports said the former Benfica player was allowed to leave after having been admitted on Jan. 4 with neck pain. Lisbon's Hospital da Luz would not comment when reached by telephone by The Associated Press.

Eusebio spent nearly two weeks in hospital, including days in intensive care, in December to receive treatment for infections in both lungs. Doctors say he was cured.

Eusebio da Silva Ferreira, who turns 70 later this month, became a Portuguese superstar from standout performances in the 1960s and was voted one of FIFA's 10 best players of all time.
