LONDON -- An English footballer has been banned for six months after being found guilty of a biting offense for the second time in a year.

Joss Labadie, who plays for Dagenham & Redbridge in England's fourth tier, was charged with violent conduct after being accused of biting the hand of an opponent during a league match on March 28.

He denied the charge but Dagenham said Wednesday that the case was found against him and he was handed a six-month ban by the English Football Association.

The 24-year-old Labadie was banned for 10 matches last season for biting when he was a Torquay player. That was the same length of suspension that was handed to Luis Suarez for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic while playing for Liverpool in April 2013.
