England will be based in Rustenburg during World Cup

England coach Fabio Capello confirmed Tuesday that his team's
training base will be in Rustenburg during the World Cup.
Capello has been assured about the state of the pitches on
the Royal Bafokeng sports campus after expressing concern during a
visit there earlier this month.
Rustenburg, where the facility has been purpose built, is at
an altitude of 1,153 meters (3,783 feet) .
"The facilities are OK, there were some problems with the
pitches but I spoke to people there and they will be OK for June
when we are in South Africa," Capello said. "We found Rustenburg
was the best place for us. It is quiet, good for security, is close
to the stadium where we play the first game."
England plays the United States on June 12 at the Royal
Bafokeng Sports Palace in Rustenburg, which is north of
Johannesburg.
