Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has broken his hand while filming a publicity spot with Germany's under-21 team and could miss the rest of the season.

Neither the German Football Federation nor the club specified which hand was broken. Eintracht said Trapp was injured while shooting a spot but did not give details.

Trapp was with Germany's under-21 team in Israel for a game on Sunday. Trapp flew back to Frankfurt to be further examined.

Trapp has been one of the top players for the promoted team, the surprise of the season. But Eintracht is winless in six games and is in danger of falling from fourth place in the Bundesliga, which brings qualifying for the Champions League.
