Former Netherlands midfielder Edgar Davids says he is leaving second-tier English club Crystal Palace less than three months after signing.
The 37-year-old Davids gave no reason for the decision announced Monday on his website, but says his time at the League Championship club was "one of the greatest experiences of my life."
Davids made seven appearances for Palace after coming out of retirement in August. He was previously without a club for two years after leaving Ajax in 2008.
Davids had signed a one-year contract with Palace and was being paid only for the games he played.

The midfielder appeared 74 times for the Netherlands in a career that also took him to AC Milan, Juventus, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Tottenham.
