Felipe Caicedo scored a penalty in the 58th minute to give Ecuador a 1-1 draw against Bolivia in South American World Cup qualifying Tuesday.
Jaime Dario Arrascaita Iriondo of Bolivia scored in the 47th to give the home side the lead.
The draw kept Ecuador in the fight to finish in the top four in South America and qualify automatically for Brazil. The fifth-place team faces a playoff to qualify. Brazil qualifies automatically as the host nation.
Ecuador has 22 points from 14 matches. Bolivia has 11 and has no chance to qualify.
