Dutch defender Bas van den Brink says he has signed a new contract with Busan I'Park in South Korea's K-League and will leave Australian club Gold Coast United at the end of the season.

Van den Brink said ''the deal put forward from Busan I'Park was a very, very good one and I would be mad to turn it down.'' His two-year contract with the A-League club expires when the season ends in March.

With Gold Coast captain Jason Culina away with Australia at the Asian Cup, van den Brink has been playing as a midfielder.

Gold Coast coach Miron Bleiberg said he wished van den Brink well, saying ''on and off the field Bas is an excellent guy.''
