Taarabt was QPR's stand-out player as they claimed the Championship title and a number of clubs have been linked with the Morocco international over the summer. Paris Saint-Germain are reported to have tabled a bid for the playmaker but Taarabt remains at Loftus Road for now and could yet be persuaded to stay on for the 2011/12 campaign. Derry admits that would be a welcome boost to all concerned, with few expecting the highly-rated 22-year-old to see out the summer at QPR. He told talkSPORT: "I was surprised he came back. I thought he'd be gone in the summer. "Last year he was incredible for us, he was absolutely fantastic at times and at other times he was terrible and that sums him up in a few words. "On his day he can be by far the best player on the pitch and on his day he can be a liability. "I'm sure the fans would love him to play a part this year and us players as well. If he can get his head right, it'd be a great bonus for us."
