Deportivo's Riki out with appendicitis

Deportivo La Coruna says striker Ivan ''Riki'' Sanchez-Rico will be operated on for appendicitis on Friday.

The Spanish club gave no timetable on when Riki will return.

Riki has one goal in five appearances in his fifth season with Deportivo.

After a poor start, Deportivo is in 15th place in Spain with 11 points, one ahead of Malaga, which visits La Coruna on Sunday.
