De Rossi left out of Italy squad to face France

Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi has been left out of the Italy squad for the friendly against France for disciplinary reasons but teammate Alessandro Florenzi has been called up for the first time.
De Rossi scored in Italy's last two World Cup qualifying matches but has been dropped after being sent off in Roma's 3-2 defeat to Lazio earlier on Sunday for punching Lazio's Stefano Mauri.
De Rossi apologized to Mauri after the game but players are expected by Italy coach Cesare Prandelli to adhere to a strict disciplinary code. Prandelli will not call up players who have been sent off for dissent or violent conduct.
Newcastle defender Davide Santon and Cagliari's Davide Astori return to the squad while AC Milan's young striker Stephan El Shaarawy has also been included again.
Italy hosts France in Parma on Wednesday.
