Hercules striker David Trezeguet is considering a move back to the French league next season because he wants to win trophies again.

Trezeguet has scored 11 league goals in the Spanish top flight for struggling Hercules, which is in the relegation zone with six matches remaining.

''A return to France is possible,'' Trezeguet told L'Equipe television late Thursday. ''Sentimentally, I love Monaco. But other clubs have more ambition, like Lyon. It is an ambitious club that looks to win trophies. That's what I want to rediscover.''

The 33-year-old Trezeguet played for Monaco for five seasons before joining Juventus in 2000, having scored the Golden Goal winner for France in the European Championship final against Italy.

He went on to score 138 goals in 245 league games for Juventus, forming a prolific partnership with Alessandro Del Piero, before joining Hercules at the start of this season.

He scored 34 goals in 71 appearances for France, but fell out with former coach Raymond Domenech.
