Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo was among three Real Madrid players who had their cleats stolen from the visitors' locker room Tuesday at the Allianz Arena shortly before the Champions League semifinal first leg against Bayern Munich.

In all, six pairs of cleats were stolen from Ronaldo and his teammates Karim Benzema and Mesut Ozil, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.

Real Madrid made an official complaint to European soccer's governing body UEFA over the incident. Bayern Munich was yet to comment.

As happens with every game, Real Madrid staff went into the locker rooms, which are under camera surveillance, well before kickoff to prepare each player's equipment. The players then came in to find their gear was missing.
