The Gabon international joined the Tigers on a three-year deal from Rangers for £1.5million in the summer of 2008 and went on to make 29 league appearances to help Phil Brown's side retain their top-flight status. But the 32-year-old has slipped down the pecking order at the KC Stadium this term, making just one start and two substitute appearances before going on international duty to the African Cup of Nations. Cousin has previously been linked with moves to Championship outfit Newcastle, but his agent, Willie McKay, says the former Rangers striker wants to stay on at the KC. McKay told the Hull Daily Mail: "Daniel doesn't want to go anywhere and he is desperate to win his place back into the starting line-up. "He wants to be given the chance to prove his worth to the team." The agent added: "He doesn't want to go anywhere and certainly is not prepared to drop into the Championship. "Look at who Daniel scored against last season, Arsenal twice and Manchester United. "When he played for Rangers he tore Celtic apart every time he played against them. He is a quality player." Cousin came close to joining Burnley in the summer transfer window, but McKay said the move did not suit his client. He said: "Hull were trying to get that deal done themselves but Daniel wasn't happy with it. "If Hull want to get rid of him then it is simple - they should pay up the remaining two years of his contract. "Having said that, it isn't about money. Daniel wants to play football, and he wants to play for Hull as he loves the club and is settled in the area."
