Love scored in the 14th and 47th minutes, and Jadson added the other as the Sao Paulo club improved to 43 points in front of 41,000 fans at the club's new Arena Corinthians.

Atletico-MG defeated Palmeiras 2-1 and is four points off the pace. Lucas Pratto scored twice for Atletico and Andrei Girotto scored for Palmeiras.

In results from Saturday: Santos defeated Avai 5-2; Goias downed Vasco 3-0; and Figueirense defeated Sport 2-1.

Behind the two leaders, Gremio is in third place, six points behind and Fluminense is 10 back with 33 points in 20 matches.

Cruzeiro had more of the possession against Corinthians, but only mounted three real scoring chances, all stopped by `keeper Cassio.

Pratto's two goals for Atletico-MG gave him nine for the league season, second in the scoring table behind Ricardo Oliveira of Sao Paulo with 11.

Gremio was lucky to escape with a scoreless draw against Ponte Preta, which failed to convert 20 scoring chances. Gremio had its only real chance in the 47th when Uruguay forward Braian Rodriguez broke in alone on keeper Marcelo Lomba, who came up with a sprawling save from point-blank range.

Rio de Janeiro's Fluminense missed a chance to move up. Joinville got a goal from Mario Sergio in the 26th, Cicero leveled in the 37th, but an own-goal from Fluminense defender Marlon was the decider in the final seconds of the first half.
