SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) How the penalty shootout unfolded in the Copa America final at Estadio Nacional on Saturday:

Chile: Matias Fernandez converts into the bottom left corner, 1-0.

Argentina: Lionel Messi scores into the bottom right corner, 1-1.

Chile: Arturo Vidal's shot to the left is gloved by Sergio Romero but goes in, 2-1.

Argentina: Gonzalo Higuain fires the ball wildly over the crossbar, 2-1.

Chile: Charles Aranguiz slots into the bottom right corner, 3-1.

Argentina: Ever Banega's shot to the bottom right is well saved by Claudio Bravo, 3-1.

Chile: Alexis Sanchez watches Romero dive right, and coolly knocks the winner into the bottom left corner, 4-1.
