Cologne says it has received no bid for Lukas Podolski and will seek to extend the forward's contract.

Cologne's managing director Claus Horstmann says ''there has been no official offer'' for the Germany international and that the Bundesliga club will strive for a contract extension for its ''most important'' player.

Podolski's contract expires in 2013. Podolski said Saturday that he expected a bid to come ''and then you have to make a decision on your own.''

Podolski has scored nine goals this season despite being replaced as captain by new coach Stale Solbakken.
