Apertura leaders Club America were denied yet another victory by Luis Perea, who earnt Cruz Azul a 1-1 draw.

Club America could have extended their lead at the summit to eight points after just 13 matches although they looked well on course to achieve that when Luis Rey struck on the stroke of half-time.

But Perea's effort in the 70th minute earnt Cruz Azul a share of the spoils and keep Club America's lead over second place Santos Laguna to six points.

Morelia missed out on the chance to move level on points with Santos Laguna after a 1-0 loss at Veracruz.

The hosts claimed all three points through 75th-minute substitute Luis Tejada's last-gasp strike as Morelia remained sixth in the standings.

Two late goals inspired Tigres Monterrey to a 3-1 victory over struggling Atlante, who seemed well placed to earn a share of the spoils when Walter Erviti's effort on the stroke of half-time cancelled out Alan Pulido's 17-minute opener.

But the home side came on strong in the closing stages and two goals in the final five minutes from Pulido and Bairros Danilinho condemned Atlante to defeat.

Finally, second-half substitute Luis Garcia Sanz's goal a minute from time helped Unam Pumas to a 1-1 draw at Chiapas FC, who had taken the lead after 53 minutes through Lucas Viatri.
