Chievo, Lazio share spoils in Rome

Lazio were held to a goalless draw by a brave Chievo at the Stadio Olimpico.
The visitors dominated the encounter in Rome but failed to make the most of their chances and had to settle for a point.
The result prevented Lazio from leapfrogging Udinese into third place.
Instead, Edy Reja's men will spend the Christmas break in fourth. Chievo, meanwhile, have climbed to 12th.
The men from Verona went into the game on the back of a 2-0 triumph over Cagliari - their first win since November 20.
The visitors had most of the possession and almost went ahead in the sixth minute but Alberto Paloschi's 12-yard shot was saved by Lazio goalkeeper Albano Bizarri.
At the other end, Lazio's Miroslav Klose fired wide from outside the area.
Chievo continued to push forward and had a great chance midway through the first half. Bostjan Cesar got his head behind Luciano's cross, however, his effort was kept out by Bizarri.
Lazio struggled to put a good move together and Chievo could have gone into the break with a narrow advantage yet Marco Andreolli fired over the bar from a good position.
Chievo picked up where they left off after the re-start and missed a good opportunity on 53 minutes. Sergio Pellissier's powerful header from Bojan Jokic's cross went just wide.
Chievo's efforts were almost rewarded in the 69th minute. Cyril Thereau fed Pellissier but his goal-bound attempt was kept out by Bizarri.
Lazio were more dangerous in the final 20 minutes. Andrea Dias' headed Cristian Ledesma's cross just wide.
Lazio could have claimed all three points in the dying seconds but Klose's close-range header went over the bar.
