Chievo Verona has fired Domenico Di Carlo two days after a humiliating 4-1 loss to Palermo, and hired Eugenio Corini as its new manager.
Di Carlo coached Chievo to a 10th-place finish in Serie A last season but in its opening six matches in this campaign the Verona squad has won once and lost five to stand third from the bottom.

Corini, a former midfielder for Chievo and Palermo, was handed his first head coaching job in the top division, having guided Crotone and Frosinone in the lower divisions.
