The English Football Association has fined Chelsea 20,000 pounds ($32,200) for the way its players surrounded a referee after he sent off one of their teammates in last weekend's 1-0 defeat at Queens Park Rangers.

Referee Chris Foy showed Jose Bosingwa a red card for bringing down QPR's former Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips in the 33rd minute of Sunday's match, prompting several Chelsea players to protest to the match official.

Chelsea pleaded guilty to an FA charge of failing to ensure its players ''conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.''
