Chasing pack close in on PSV

Second-placed FC Twente edged out second-bottom VVV-Venlo 2-1 to boost their hopes of defending their title. And Ajax put themselves firmly back in the hunt by closing to within three points of top spot with a 3-1 success at basement boys Willem II. PSV were denied victory by a 90th-minute equaliser from Ramon Zomer. Goals from Balazs Dzsudzsak and Jermain Lens either side of half-time had cancelled out Leroy George's opener for NEC and looked to be enough for the three points, but the leaders could not hold out. Ola John netted six minutes from time to give Twente victory. The champions fell behind in the fourth minute through Ferry de Regt, but hit back on the half-hour mark as Wout Brama capitalised on Kevin Begois' error. Ajax also had to come from behind to see off Willem II after the strugglers had Denis Halilovic sent off. Rangelo Janga put the hosts ahead in the 19th minute before Siem de Jong levelled matters just after the restart. With the scores locked at 1-1, Halilovic was dismissed before Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen scored in the 80th and 88th minutes to win it for the visitors. Elsewhere, Stefan de Vrij scored two minutes from time to give Feyenoord a 2-1 win at home to NAC Breda. Luc Castaignos gave the hosts the lead after 29 minutes, but NAC had looked like claiming a point when Julian Jenner equalised on the hour. De Graafschap eased 11 points clear of the bottom three with a 1-0 home win over ADO Den Haag, Rydell Poepon with the only goal of the game after 10 minutes.
