Chalupny to deal with concussions

Lori Chalupny, captain of the U.S. Women's national soccer team, is
taking an indefinite leave of absence to deal with concerns related
to concussions.
The St. Louis Athletica of Women's Professional Soccer
announced the move on Thursday. Chalupny will miss an upcoming trip
by the national team to Portugal. She is also expected to miss part
of Athletica's training camp that begins on March 1. The team opens
it season in April.
No specific date has been set for Chalupny's return.
Chalupny started 18 games for St. Louis in 2009, with two
goals and one assist. She was voted to the WPS All-Star team's
starting lineup.
Chalupny was a gold medalist in the 2008 Beijing Olympic
Games, and a member of the 2007 U.S. Women's World Cup squad.
