Celtic manager Neil Lennon has had a six-match touchline ban reduced to four games after an appeal.

Lennon received the lengthy suspension in January for ''excessive misconduct'' after being sent to the stand following an altercation with a fourth official in a league defeat to Hearts in November.

Celtic said the ban was ''excessive and unprecedented for a first offense'' and the Scottish Football Association's Appeals Board reduced the punishment by two games on Thursday.

The former Northern Ireland midfielder could face more sanctions, however, following his touchline clash with Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist at the end of the heated Scottish Cup match between the Old Firm teams on Wednesday.
