Rangers had two players sent off and another dismissed after the final whistle in a 1-0 loss to fierce rival Celtic in an ill-tempered Scottish Cup fifth-round replay on Wednesday.

Mark Wilson's 48th-minute goal gave Celtic victory, earning the Scottish Premier League leader a quarterfinal against Inverness.

Steven Whittaker was the first Rangers player to be sent off when he was shown a second yellow card in the 36th. Algeria defender Madjid Bougherra also picked up two bookings to get sent off in second-half injury time.

In chaotic scenes after the final whistle, Celtic manager Neil Lennon and Rangers assistant coach Ally McCoist squared up to each other before El-Hadji Diouf was given a second yellow for dissent.
