Reds skipper Gerrard has an ankle infection while vice-captain Carragher is struggling with a calf injury. Carroll admits the loss of the pair is a hindrance but points to their 2-0 win at West Brom on Saturday as evidence they can cope without them. "It was tough not having Stevie or Carra in the squad," Carroll told The Daily Telegraph. "They are great players and we need them. But we have fantastic players that can come in. "The West Brom game showed we've got lads who can step in when needed and do a job. We showed what we can do."
