Carroll backed by Henderson

Carroll returned to the starting line-up at the Britannia Stadium on Wednesday after being relegated to the bench for the previous two games against Manchester United and Norwich. The England international failed to score from a couple of good chances with Luis Suarez again stealing the headlines with his two goals. However, Henderson was impressed by Carroll's performance at Stoke and insists there is nothing wrong with the striker's belief. "I thought Andy was brilliant against Stoke," said Henderson. "He worked really hard, closed defenders down, won a lot of headers and had a few chances himself. "He contributed a lot. He's been doing that in training and we all know what we can do. "I don't think there's a problem with Andy's belief. He's a good player and he shows that in training every day." Henderson, meanwhile, is confident Liverpool can end their wait for a trophy this season by going all the way in the Carling Cup. The Reds are seeking their first piece of silverware since 2006 and Henderson admits they are determined to end that drought. "It's a long time without a trophy but we're just concentrating on winning every game and getting that winning mentality back," added Henderson. "We're quietly confident. We'll just keep looking forward to every game, keep building the team spirit and hopefully we'll keep putting in performances like that."
