Carew cuts his ties with Villa

The Norwegian frontman joined the Potters in January after slipping down the pecking order at Villa Park - but says he has no intention of returning to the club after the weekend's season-finale. "Aston Villa was a fantastic period of my life," the 31-year-old said. "I will go and watch them as a fan but not as a player anymore. "I have a fantastic relationship with the fans and there will always be a place in my heart for them. I love the club immensely but my time there is finished. "I want to stay in England. I love Stoke; the fans are fantastic and the changing room is amazing with world-class banter. We just have to see after the season."
