Sturridge has made a flying start to his loan spell from Chelsea and scored his third goal in three games in the 2-0 victory against Everton. The England Under-21 striker is flourishing under the guiding hand of manager Owen Coyle just as Wilshere did before him. Wilshere, who was at the match on Sunday, made such rapid strides at the Reebok Stadium after arriving on loan from Arsenal he is now getting regular games for the Gunners and made his first England start last week. Cahill, an international team-mate of Wilshere's in the victory against Denmark on Wednesday, said: "Jack was fantastic when he was here. He used the club to get regular first-team football and it worked out brilliantly for him. "It can be the same for Daniel - he's a young player with unbelievable ability. He's scored three in three for us and you can see his confidence is high. "At his age it's all about playing football and you need to be getting games in. That's what he'll do here, he'll go from strength to strength. He really does look a top-class performer at the minute. "At Chelsea, because of the calibre of strikers he was finding it difficult to get games. He wanted to get first-team football and like Jack last season, he's taken it with both hands. "Everyone is spending millions because goals win you games and they are hard to come by. Daniel has proved to be a real top-class bit of business for the club, and long may that continue. "He's a real nice lad as well, down to earth, gets his head down, works hard and it's no coincidence when you do that, the rewards come." England defender Cahill was also on target against Everton, his header taking a deflection off John Heitinga for his first goal of the season. He intends to take on board Coyle's message about improving his scoring ratio. Cahill said: "I'm having that goal, definitely. Sometimes you see me wandering around there up front, not really wanting to come back, I'm that eager to get on the scoresheet. "This year has been hard to come by for goals, whereas I had quite a few at this stage last season. It was important that I got that up and running. "I'd like to think that during the duration of a season I can contribute at least three goals, if not five."
