Butt signs new Bayern contract

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Hans-Jorg Butt has signed a one-year
contract extension to keep him at the Allianz Arena until June
2011.
The 35-year-old, who joined the club in 2008 from Benfica
primarily as a back-up, has established himself as first choice
ahead of Michael Rensing under coach Louis van Gaal this term.
"We are very happy with Jorg's performances and we are
pleased that Bayern will be able to call on him for a further
season," Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told the club's
official website.
Butt, who played in the 2002 Champions League final for Bayer
Leverkusen, said: "I am very happy at Bayern and I am looking
forward to continuing my successful time in Munich."
Butt has played 19 of Bayern's 22 Bundesliga games this
season and all six of their Champions League matches.
